Frequently Asked Questions

We know you’ll likely have many questions when looking to book your makeup course and so we’ve listed all of the most common questions that we get asked.

Do you receive a certificate?

Yes! If you complete any of our accredited courses you will receive an online PDF certification of completion, fully accredited by The Guild of Beauty Therapists.

If you would like a printed version of the certificate there is an additional fee of £25.

Can I start work as a MUA upon completion of the course?

We aim to give you the skills and knowledge to leave our academy confident in your ability to create makeup looks on clients. However, we always recommend that you practice in your own time and always continue to learn, to evolve and perfect your craft!

Do you offer payment by instalments?

We offer payment plans on all of our courses apart from self-application. You have the option to pay the full amount, a deposit with the final balance due 1 week before the course start date or payment plans over 3 or 6 months.

Do I have to bring my own makeup?

You will have access to the Academy’s makeup kit but we always recommend bringing whatever makeup you already own, especially if you happen to have your own kit.

A starter makeup kit is provided on the 12 week course to use throughout the course.

Do I need to bring a model with me?

The only course you are required to bring a model is the 6 week evening course. We also recommend bringing a model with you for the 12-week complete makeup course but it’s not essential. The other courses do not require a model since you’ll either be applying your makeup to yourself (if it’s the self-application masterclass) or on the other participants within the class.

What is The Beauty Guild?

The Beauty Guild (officially known as ‘The Guild of Beauty Therapists’) is the UK trade body for the professional beauty industry.

The Guild has been providing expert beauty insurance cover and accrediting beauty courses for over 25 years and we are an officially accredited training centre of the Guild.

How do I book on to a course?

You can book all of our courses right here on the website by visiting the individual course pages. Each course offers a deposit option and the higher-end courses even offer payment plans over 3 or 6 months.

I am already a working MUA, how can a course benefit me?

All makeup artists need inspiration and you can never stop learning new skills! Surrounding yourself around other artists and investing the time to learn new looks will be hugely beneficial to your career. As a makeup artist we all constantly need to evolve to stay relevant in the beauty industry. We provide looks that we know are popular and will allow you to stay current.

Will I receive a makeup kit with my course?

We only supply a makeup kit on our 12-week complete makeup artists course. On all the other courses you will have access to our range of makeup products but we do recommend bringing any makeup you have.
