Makeup Academy Trainers

Avril and Jade have been working in the industry for over 10 years and are highly experienced as celebrity make up artists. The girls met 7 years ago on a makeup counter and from then on have been inseparable through their love of ‘all things glam’. Over time they both outgrew working in retail and decided to take things into their own hands and create a makeup academy which would train the next generation of makeup artists. Here are their stories:

Avril Jarrett

At the age of 18 Avril had already began her journey as a makeup artist by attending college and completing a NVQ course in Makeup Artistry. Growing up she always had a passion for makeup so upon leaving college she threw herself into the deep end and worked on a make up counter. Since that moment she was fortunate enough to work on some of the most prestigious makeup counters which include Bobby Brown, Dior and MAC Cosmetics. On the side to this she had also started her own freelance makeup business, building clientele and creating a social media following. In 2018 she was able to pursue her makeup freelance career full-time and has now had the opportunity to help further other MUAs careers by opening up Allure Makeup Academy.

Jade Ewen

At the age of 16, Jade Ewan originally started off as a face painter in a small boutique, after a few years of experience she then went on to become a completely self-taught makeup artist. She always had a love and flair for being creative which is reflected in her talent for music which she studied a degree for at university. After uni she fell into a job in insurance but realised that her heart belonged to the makeup industry. With her mind set, she followed her dream and worked on makeup counters whilst pursuing her make up career as a freelancer. After working freelance for some time she was fortunate enough to have the opportunity of working with celebrities in which she has built lifelong friendships with. After completing every challenge thrown at her she decided to open Allure Makeup Academy to help train the next generation of make up artists.
